What is Keratin?

Keratin is a natural repairing substance, which comprises approximately 88% of your hair. It penetrates the hair repairing internal damage and coats the hair preventing further damage.Keratin is high in sulphur and the amino acid cystine, which make it tough, elastic and insoluble. These qualities are fundamental to thestrong structural role keratin often plays in nature. It is the main protective substance in our hair, skin and nails.

Can you do the Brazilian Straightening over a Japanese Straightener, relaxed , coloured,chemically treated ,highlighted hair?

Yes, it can be done over any kind of the mentioned treatment.

How do I manage my hair after the treatment?

Usually the hair will get straight just by rough drying or leaving it dry naturally.In some cases there may still be some waves but definetily frizz free. If blow-dry is required is less than half the time you would normally spend.

Will my hair get damaged after straightening treatment?

Brazilian keratin straightening will improve the hair condition a lot leaving it soft, shiny and really easy to manage.

Can I colour my hair before or after the treatment?

Yes, I would recommend you colour your hair anytime before the treatment, even same day. Once you get the treatment done you would have to wait at least 10 days to dye your hair.

How long do I have to wait to wash my hair once I have the treatment done?

You can wash your hair 3 days after you had done the treatment. With some products you can wash hair straightaway or next day.

What cant I do for first 3 days  ?

Until you wash your hair, for 3 days, you cant tie it back, put it behind ear, exercise or get it wet.

What shall I do if my hair gets wet for first few days after treatment?

Blow-dry immediately and flat iron it if necessary.

Can I go into the pool or ocean after the treatment?

Yes, I would recommend to leave the treatment settle for about a week before going swimming.The treatment is wash out quicker by sodium chloride and chlorine.Sodium chloride(salt) is in sea water and chlorine in most swimming pools and spas.

How long will the treatment last on my hair?

It usually lasts about 3-4 months  depending on how often you wash your hair.

Are there any special products to use after?

Yes, I would recommend you use salt free after care products as the treatment will last better.

How often can I repeat the treatment?

You can get the treatment done as often as needed, there is no time limit. If you wash your hair every day or every other day it will need doing more often .

Can I do this treatment while pregnant?

It is not recommended to do this treatment while pregnant.

Do I have to do a touch up on my next visit or the whole head?

The treatment washes out over time so the whole hair will need doing again. There is no regrowth to deal with and as you do it more the treatment builds up on hair and it lasts longer and longer each time you do it.
